Etro, which was found at Neiman Marcus, does a great job in their Spring/Summer 2013 collection with the two items from the collection shown above. First, the Gathered Round Neck Paisley Dress in black really sets the tone for what this Italian brand stands for, which is Elegance. The Dress was made of a silky jersey material, with three quarter long sleeves, a very classy fitted pencil skirt and a ruched round neckline dead center at front. As described by Neiman Marcus, “Etro’s dress highlights the narrow proportions of your waist…”. If this was not enough, Etro proceeded to showing this Shawl-Collar Printed Jacket in the color teal with a multitude of color on the print. With Teal being its dominant color it then expands into a multitude of white, green, purples, and blues. Yet it never loses its slim silhouette due to its Viscose/Spandex fabric. An innovative touch from Etro to show they’re a very customer friendly brand.

Bottega Veneta (Spring/Summer 2013), which I found at Barney’s New York on the Class trip to Union Square, had to amazing pieces, which just stood out of the rack. One was the Floral Printed Dress. This dress was a Crepe V-neck Sleeveless dress with floral printing, which was then contrasted by studding. This use of embellishments certainly draw a lot of attention something that is then contrasted by the invisible back zipper. This silk produced dress is truly captivating. This dress did not hang alone; next to it hung a Fan Print Dress. This following silk sleeveless dress also had an invisible back zipper but differed in the fact that it had a fan print with smocked bodice as well as beading at the crew neck of the dress. A simple yet prestigious touch by Bottega Veneta

Marni

Marni’s collection at Barneys has a wide assortment. But what really stood out to me from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection were the Mum Print Dress and Fur Front Cardigan. First, the Mum Print Dress although not containing any fur demonstrates how Marni’s can either make everyday apparel or elegant trade’s men like work with fur. This scoop neck sleeveless dress comes in an eggshell white color with black print on a full scalloped skirt. Not a bad look to start summer with. Next the craftsmanship of working with fur is shown with the Fur Front Cardigan. The cardigan is made of cashmere knit with two-tone fur at front, welt pockets, and ribbed trim. A classy warm fur-lined cardigan to pierce a cold location where winter runs 6 months long.  Its Fabrics range from cashmere/mink fur to cotton/viscose lining with all its fur originating from Finland.

Last but not least Prabal Gurung featured at Barney’s New York is worth mentioning. This American Designer really has become a household name after having dressed the First Lady numerous times. But this Collection the pieces that stood out to me weren’t something that we could expect to see Mrs. Obama wearing out in public. First is a beautiful White with Acid Yellow Embroidered Yoke Dress. This Spring/Summer 2013 collection piece was a silk and cotton blend crewneck sleeveless dress with what Barney’s is calling “Acid Yellow” embroidered yoke. A key structure element on the dress is the grosgrain ribbon at waist allowing a slimmer look and of course the invisible back zipper to avoid any distractions from the beauty of this simple dress. Next a Sleeveless Chiffon Cape Floral Dress is seen in the collection. Made of silk, this silk crepe de chine sleeveless crewneck pops right out at you with its loud floral print. Truly White, Grey, and Blue have never looked this good in Prabal Gurungs collection.
